I didn't think so:

Kate, Meet Geese

Kate feeds bread to geese. However, given that these particular geese were taller than she is, and prone to hissing, she chose not to leave Dad's side.

Good News & Bad News

The good news is that Kate is obsessed with brushing her teeth. She squeals with delight when she sees you hand her her little toothbrush, and cries when you take it away from her (after 15 minutes, no less).

The bad news is that she likes to run around nekkid. Trying to get a diaper on her is like Dolly Parton trying to hide behind a tree (i.e. impossible).

Kate Pic & a Bonus Mom Pic

Kate gives me one of her best "don't-look-at-what-I'm-doing-mom" looks.
Me finishing my first 5K.

Fearless

Kate received a little slide from her friends Tyler & Lesley for her first birthday. She has recently learned how to climb up the steps and slide down. She absolutely loves going down the slide, and will lather, rinse & repeat for hours on end if allowed to do so.

Mad Skills

Kate's new skill, just learned:

Why yes, that means she can now open doors.

Which means that dexter is getting roughly 43 dog cookies a day. Poor guy. He's going to blow up from a glut of scooby snacks.

Labor Day 2006

What did Kate do?
Well, she ate chocolate chip banana bread:

However, I think she would have much preferred Nutella:

She played with stacking cups:

Watched football with dad:

Went to a party on Saturday night where she had lots of fun playing with 2 other 2 year olds, and of course the old party favorite, emptying out mom's purse:

Headed out to the lake on Sunday:

but didn't think too highly about actually getting in:

However, she did look awfully cute in her swimsuit so that made her feel better:

After all that activity, she had to refuel with some milk:

What I don't have a picture of is her passing out at 5 pm, and sleeping soundly until the next morning. Poor girl, all that fun just wore her out.

My Blossoming Foodie?

Evidence that Kate is going to be like Mom? She loved the figs with goat cheese & prosciutto I made tonight.

One can hope. How lovely it would be to have a child shun mac & cheese & chicken nuggets in favor of real cuisine.

However, she does love Orange Jello:

Baby steps, people.
